Pass the Visitor's Test
What Do Your Visitors Expect to See on Your Website?
If you want to generate leads that convert to sales, the first thing your MLM website has to do is fulfill the visitor's expectations. Give them the information that they're searching for and the answer to their main question: "What's in it for me?" Think of your website content as your conversation with the visitor. Content management involves the different methods you use to engage your visitor so they hear your message; videos, podcasts, RSS feeds, articles, surveys and discussion forums. There is more information about your MLM product or service than its name and price.
Think big picture, take in the whole race track: for example, use industry and news reports about the conditions it's related to. The visitors test is how well you collect and present the information that they are searching for to solve their problem in a way that is easy to understand. If you pass it, they will stay on your site and explore your offer.
Visitors like websites that make it easy for them to find what they want and respect their time. Your focus need to on giving your visitors want they want, remember it's their money and they are picky about where they spend it.
But as more MLM distributors have entered the race, some have starting using some pretty aggressive methods to get their visitor's attention; advertisements that fly-in, slide-in, pop-up, redirect or block them from reading the content until they have read their message or entered their email address. Visitors DON'T like websites that waste their time with useless advertisements or be forced to give their information before they are ready.
Structure an easy "1-2-3" path for the visitor to follow to the information about your MLM product or service in a way that's easy to navigate:
- Start with a bold headline that speaks directly to what the person is searching for in your product or service: the main benefit they will receive.
- Then present the second, third and fourth benefits, the goal here is to answer their most important questions about your MLM offering.
- Then move to content that supports the first set of benefits; testimonials, product tests, statistics and your business contact information to give your MLM product or service credibility.
